Known powers: Dr. Stephen Strange possesses the normal human strength of a man of his age, height, and build who engages in moderate regular exercise. Strange is this universe's Sorcerer Supreme, and as such, has the knowledge to call upon a great many different magical spells. He wears a cloak of levitation which allows him to fly and he uses the Eye of Agamotto which allows him to see through illusions and read minds. He also is a master of every known Earth Martial Art. Although not one of Marvel's current writers seem to know this fact. In the old days of Strange Tales and the first two series, he and Wong were often shown working out. In more than a few stories, Doc would find himself outgunned in the magic department and would use his vast martial arts abilities.

History: Stephen Strange was a brilliant and arrogant neurosurgeon whose career was cut short when a car accident resulted in nerve damage to his hands. Thereafter, Dr. Strange couldn't even hold a scalpel. Despondent, he tried every cure without success. Finally, he heard of the Ancient One in Tibet. On a longshot, Strange journeyed to meet the sorcerer and the possibility of a miracle. Strange journeyed to meet the Ancient One, and after a painful trip, he had to prove himself worthy. Strange uncovered a plot by Baron Mordo to kill the Ancient One, thereby saving the sage's life, and was taken on as a disciple. After learning the ways of sorcery, Strange returned to New York. Largely perceived as an eccentric, he is certainly the earth's Sorcerer Supreme. He "married" Clea in the Master Of The Mystic Arts series. The rings they exchanged are magical and keep them always linked.
